In Spite of the awful weather forecast the heavens smiled favourably upon us and we were able to play Woodbridge in glorious sunshine and shirt sleeves! The course was in excellent condition and though the rough had very long seeding grass, difficult for both gentlemen and ladies, the greens were like a billiard table. Fifteen of us played a team even in teams of four with a ghost player, David Sears, who enable that team to come second. Pat Edworthy organised the day and we had an excellent meal in the late afternoon. Thank you Pat.
The winners by an amazing 11 points with 84 were Pearl and Bob Webb, Yvette Douglas and myself. Second with 73 points were Sue Seabrook, Valeria Hobday, David Robinson and David Sears! It was lovely to welcome Valerie, a Woodbridge member, and we hope she will join us again. Also Yvette Douglas back from her travels and Sue Seabrook after a long absence. Also well done to Bob Webb playing his first 18 holes in well over a year and after major surgery. What a hardy lot we are.
The next venue is at Thorpeness Suffolk, 11.32 tee off, to be organised by Carol Cooke. Please let me know a.s.a.p. if you are hoping to join us if you haven't already done so. Also any dietary requirement and those who need a buggy. Thorpeness Pro Shop 01728 454926.
Michael Brown has now sent out details of the golf break in Portugal based in Sesimbra which is between Lisbon and Setubal from 8 to 18 October. It looks to be another great event and if you haven't got the details please let me know and I will forward them to you.
